J Martins has successfully established himself as the King of High Life tunes and beats in Nigeria of this generation. This new tune is nothing different from what he’s known for, and the beauty of his brand of music is that it cuts across the African continent.
A unique genre of music that is synonymous with majority of francophone African countries , Its no surprise that his past works have earned him massive airplay in African countries, and i am sure “Good Life” won’t be any different.
The beat is the typical melodious kinda beat that comes with high life music, the drums and strings, and also the piano. It’s kinda fast tempo’d tho, which makes it more dance able. (I love the strings, the lead guitar is always magical and spiritual for me, on any song).
The lyrics, a blend of English language and pidgin, the pidgin makes it a more acceptable to a wider audience. Like the title says, it’s all about thanking God for the good life and the gift of life. a song to thank God for his goodness and grace.
The hook is very catchy, LOL i don’t even understand it, but i’ve been humming and singing it since i heard it few minutes ago “Namaani Nammani oh Naamani Namani oh, aaaah Naamani oh aaah naamani“.
Listen and you will surely get hooked with the captivating rhythm and melody of the song. It’s a good song and it gets a 7/10 from me.
