Nigeria’s former Minister of Education and co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, Oby Ezekwesili, has declared her intention to run for the presidency in the 2019 general elections.
She will be running under the platform of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN).
Ezekwesili said this during the party’s national convention on Sunday in Abuja.
In a series of tweets, Ezekwesili explained that she joined the presidential race because the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had failed in governance.
My friends who have fully assumed their role as #OfficeOfTheCitizen, what started as my being aggrieved with the despair and despondency across the country, and the failure of governance by the #APCPDP has now become an urgent national movement.#Hope2019 #Oby2019 #Oby4President
