VIDEO: Iwobi Fires Super Eagles To Russia 2018

Nigeria and Arsenal football fc striker, Alex Iwobi has fired the super eagles of Nigeria to her sixth world cup appearance.

Iwobi who came in as a substitute for enterprising Moses Simon found the back of the net in the 73rd minute after he connected a through pass from Mikel Agu who came in for injured Onazi.

The visitors looked dangerous in the attack and also hit the back of the net, but it was ruled offside as scores stood at nil in the first 45 minutes.

On resumption for the second half, Alex Iwobi came on for Moses Simon.

The Arsenal man quickly made an impact when he broke loose on the right, but Odeon Ighalo fluffed the opportunity in the 71st minute of the tie.

Moment later, Iwobi tapped in a low cross from the right and the stadium erupted, with fans chanting Iwobi, Iwobi.

Iwobi’s classic finish was all the super eagles needed to bag the much needed three points to finish as group winners and world cup team.

Victor Moses and Chinese based Jude Ighalo had earlier lost several goal scoring chances which could have given the Nigerian team a two goal lead.

Nigeria has topped the group with 13 points ahead of Zambia, Cameroon and Algeria.
