#TosinadedaREVIEW: Wizkid – Lagos to Soweto

Ok just when I was getting tired of the same type of music/sounds from Wizkid, he hooks up with Maleek Berry, and the result is a Pop/Reggae hit track “Lagos to Soweto”.

Lagos to Soweto is something different from wizkid, the reggae feel is just awesome. Maleek Berry definitely killed it on the beat, the kick and baselines were on point, and the strings at intervals made it even more melodious.

Wizkid definitely took his time to write the lyrics to this song, it’s evident as the regular chants we are used to from him reduced on this song. The hook will definitely get the ladies moving, and the beat will get everyone doing the reggae dance.

For the aim and the purpose of the song, the lyrics are on point and good, and the delivery is top notch. The chemistry between Wizkid and Maleek Berry on this joint was perfect.

It’s quite evident that what he did on “Beat of life” by Sarz was kinda average. I always felt he could have done better on that monstrous beat if he had taken his time.  Lagos to Soweto proves me right, it’s a more composed song in terms of delivery and lyrics.

Wizkid definitely has a lot more up his sleeves than I would have imagined, and I can’t wait for what next he’s going to drop. I hear a mixtape is in the works already. The boy is definitely grinding!
