Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his defence as Liverpool eye £8million deal for Hull left back Andy Robertson

Liverpool are closing in on an £8million deal for Hull City left back Andy Robertson.
James Milner, previously a midfielder, has made the position his own this year ahead of Spanish left back Alberto Moreno, who is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the campaign.

However, despite the former Manchester City man’s sterling performances, Jurgen Klopp wants a long-term specialist and 23-year-old Robertson fits the bill at an acceptable price.

Should the transfer go ahead it will be good news for Robertson’s old club Dundee United, who are thought to have insisted on a 10 per cent sell-on clause when Robertson joined Hull for £2.85m in 2014.

Klopp, who has been linked with Real Betis’s Riza Durmisi, may look to add another left back this summer.
