“Yesterday, Lagos State’s youngest LGA boss, Hon. Gbenga Abiola was honoured with An Award for his contribution to the advancement of youths in Nigerian politics by an NGO(InvolveAfrica).
The event which was held at the The Banquet hall of Lagos State University Teaching Hall yesterday, was graced by members of NANS, youth leaders in his local govt and well wishers.

Hon. Gbenga Abiola took the opportunity to thank the Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode and the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, for giving him the opportunity to serve, his age notwithstanding. He went on to urge other public officer holders to follow suit and used the opportunity to encourage youths in and around Lagos state to participate actively in the upcoming LGA elections. In his words, “because the LGA is closest to us, effective change begins with us actively getting involved with politics at that level. We must start now! ”
