Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has directed that the newly built Dialysis centre at the General hospital Ilorin commence operations once the necessary facilities are installed.
The governor gave the directive while inspecting the two dialysis machines at the center on Wednesday.
Alhaji Sulyman Atolagbe, the State Commissioner for Health disclosed that the two machines were procured at the cost of 23 million naira and will serve patients from within and outside the state.
While inspecting the ongoing construction of the Kwara State school of Midwifery at the premises of the General Hospital, Ilorin, the governor charged the contactor to accelerate the pace of work so as to make the school operational in the shortest possible time.
He also directed that the outstanding balance of N25 million out of the total sum of N107 million be released to the contractor so as to speed up the work.
Also at the 17 km Henry George roundabout –Agbo-oba road, the commissioner of Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya informed the Governor that the construction work was at 95 per cent completion.
He noted that by month end, the road would have been fully completed as the contractor is only working on the road marks and demarcations.
