Following the completion of the the Ilorin primary water reticulation project, the Kwara State Government has assured residents of regular supply of potable water.
The General Manager of the State Water Corporation, Alhaji Tunde Yahaya, gave the assurance while conveying journalists round the 5 water works in the metropolis on Tuesday.
He noted that the testing of the water reticulation to ensure that water is supplied to homes began over the weekend.
The GM noted that before the reticulation, there were two tanks at Tanke and Adewole but have been augmented with two tanks at Oke-Ose and Ogidi areas, which have been tested and are supplying water to parts of the metropolis.
He noted that as expected the corporation is facing but giving attention to reported leakages in some parts of the city.
Yahaya added that previously served areas will continue to receive supplies while pipes will be laid to newly developed areas.
He said the tertiary reticulation, which will involve laying pipes into streets and homes in new areas but include repair of damaged pipes, has been captured in 2018 budget and will commence soon.
The GM urged residents, who are yet to get water supply in their homes to be patient as water will soon be channeled to their areas.
