Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has collapsed on Monday in an Abuja High Court during his trials. It was gathered that Metuh was on his way to the dock when he slumped.
Metuh is standing trial over money laundering charges to the tune of N400 million which was part of the funds linked to the former National Security Adviser Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd). On February 5, 2018, Metuh appeared at the Court on a stretcher, some days after he was mandated by the trial judge to show up or forfeit his bail.
According to his lawyer Emeka Etiaba, his client had been on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital for an undisclosed ailment.
He was, however, taken to court after the threat by Justice Okon Abang to revoke his bail if he fails to appear in court. Metuh on Wednesday, March 14 approached a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, to grant him permission to travel abroad for medical treatment.
This request was turned down and subsequently dismissed by the court.
