The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday has said only a legitimate court order could stop process for the recall of embattled senator, Dino Melaye.
Rotimi Oyekanmi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the commission, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said neither filing a lawsuit nor calling on the Senate can stop the recall process.
The electoral body made it known yesterday that it has finalized and released the time-table, activity schedule for the Senator’s recall.
Mr Melaye has filed lawsuits and also called on the Senate to stop his recall.
Senator Dino Melaye’s recall process was initiated by disgruntled members of his constituents last month.
