The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and his Borno State counterpart, Alhaji Kashim Shettima have commiserated with Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN) over the demise of his father, Alhaji Bisiriyu Ali during a condolence visit to the legal luminary on Wednesday.
Alhaji Ali died last Saturday in Ibadan, Oyo State at the age of eighty-seven.
Governor Ahmed described the late Alhaji Ali as a devoted Muslim, who lived a good life, which he also passed on to his son, as evident by the exemplary life Mallam Ali is living. He therefore, urged the Senior Advocate to take solace in that.
Alhaji Ahmed described Mallam Yusuf Ali as a personal friend and respected stakeholder in Kwara State, who is valued by all in the State due to his philanthropy.
On his part, Governor Shettima expressed sadness over the demise of the lawyer’s father and prayed Allah to grant the departed eternal rest and reward him with paradise.
He urged the CEO of Ghalib Chambers to take heart and see the death as the will of Almighty Allah. “We are travelers in this world and we will all pass away one day,” he admonished.
Shettima also congratulated Governor Ahmed on the 50th anniversary of Kwara State and commended him for developing the State.
Mallam Yusuf Ali thanked Governors Ahmed and Shettima for the condolence visit. He described the Borno Governor as a friend of over ten years, who has always stood by him. The legal icon prayed that in Shettima’s tenure there will be complete peace in Borno State .
He said that Alhaji Ahmed has always been a good friend of his family, adding that the governor paid him a personal visit when his daughter got married.
Mallam Ali lauded Governor Ahmed for the good works he is doing in the State including the Geri-Alimi Diamond underpass and expressed hope that Governor Shettima will witness its commissioning.
