Diego Costa insists he is ‘very happy’ at Chelsea but not necessarily content with his life in London

Chelsea striker Diego Costa insists he is ‘very happy’ at the club but not necessarily in London.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Premier League leaders throughout his Chelsea career and was the subject of a £90million bid from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian in January.

The Spain international’s form has declined since then, scoring just three goals for the Blues since January 22 and speculation that he could leave Chelsea has not fallen away.

And following the club’s victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, Costa has added fuel to the fire by saying he is not necessarily satisfied in London.

‘I have another two years on my contract. I am always very honest with those close to me. I tell them that I am very happy at Chelsea,’ Costa told SFR Sport.

‘The club gives me a lot, the fans, the team-mates. I am in a team that is winning and that motivates me even more. Last season was not the best, not just for me but for other players and for Chelsea.

This year I hope will be different, that we win titles. If you are in a team that is winning, you always want to stay for the allotted amount of time.

‘I am happy at Chelsea, I am not necessarily saying that I am happy with my life in London, but that is something completely different. It has nothing to do with it.’

Costa played the full 90 minutes on Saturday evening as Chelsea overcame Bournemouth 3-1 on Saturday evening at the Vitality Stadium.

Victory for Antonio Conte’s side moved them seven points clear again of second-placed Tottenham with seven games left.
