Children’s Day: Lagos First Lady Applauds Indomie Fan Club’s Commitment to Raising Future Leaders

The First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has lauded Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Indomie Instant Noodles, for its consistent investment in youth development through the Indomie Fan Club (IFC). For the past two decades, the IFC has served as a vibrant platform for nurturing future leaders and shaping young minds across Nigeria.

Speaking during the Club’s 20th-anniversary celebration—which coincided with the 2025 Children’s Day festivities at Apapa Amusement Park—Dr. Sanwo-Olu praised the Club’s wide-ranging initiatives. She highlighted its role in promoting creativity, confidence, moral values, and intellectual growth through storytelling, talent showcases, and community service.

“This celebration is not just about fun, it’s about purpose,” she said. “The Indomie Fan Club continues to inspire social and intellectual development in our children.”

The First Lady also reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to child welfare, underscoring ongoing investments in education, healthcare, and programs such as the Lagos Boy Child Initiative and support for Young Farmers Clubs.

Temitope Ashiwaju, General Manager, Corporate Communications and Events at Dufil Prima Foods, reflected on the Club’s enduring legacy:

“For 20 years, IFC has been a beacon of joy, education, and creativity. Today’s celebration is about childhood, community, and continuity.”

Adding to the occasion’s excitement, Karishma Rustagi, Head of the Indomie Fan Club, stated:

“The smiles we see today reflect 20 years of love and learning. This anniversary is not just a milestone—it’s a celebration of growth, fun, and education. The launch of our new documentary marks an inspiring chapter in our journey.”

The Apapa Amusement Park was transformed into a vibrant playground of rides, games, storytelling, and live performances, drawing thousands of children, families, and educators. Nationwide, more than 150,000 children participated in the week-long celebration held from May 20 to 27 across various regions.

Founded in 2005, the Indomie Fan Club has grown to become one of Nigeria’s largest child-focused engagement platforms, with a membership of over 150,000 children aged 4 to 12. Through its enriching programs—ranging from educational workshops and competitions to value-based campaigns and excursions—the Club continues to lay a strong foundation for Nigeria’s next generation of leaders.
