#WomenEmpowerment Betsy Obaseki empowers Edo Widows

In line with the APC led Godwin Obaseki administration firm resolve to fulfil their campaign promise, Wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs Betsy Obaseki is empowering 500 Edo widows. The empowerment initiative of Mrs Obaseki tagged “Edo Women For Agriculture” will see 500 Edo widows receive training for poultry management and thereafter they will be given 40 chickens – 20 males and 20 females respectively.

The poultry training is taking place today and tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8th 2017, they will receive the empowerment coinciding with International Women’s Day.

The women are being trained on how to rear chickens as well as the economic benefits for doing so, and how to keep making money from the program.

Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki has reiterated his commitment to his promise of inclusive governance. He revealed this when he received International Federation of Women Lawyers, in Edo State earlier today.

He said “let me assure you from the very onset, as a person and as government, I believe in inclusion.” “We are changing the system that politics should come from the base and the opportunity is created for women in Edo State”
