UITH-Oke-Ose Road: Gov Ahmed Promises Completion by October

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has assured that the ongoing dualisation of the 9km Kulende-UITH-Oke-Ose road in Ilorin will be completed by October, 2018.

Ahmed who spoke on Monday, while inspecting the progress of work on the road said irrespective of the dwindling resources to the State, his administration will continue to harness available resources to provide critical infrastructure that will transform the State.

Accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, and other government officials, the governor was led by Engr Kola Shittu, the consultant handling the project.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on the project and commended the contractor and consultant in charge.

The governor also assured that funding for the project will continue accordingly in line with the payment pattern of the State Infrastructure Development Fund (IF-K).

Engr Kola Shittu disclosed that the project is at 45% level of completion, adding that by June, work on the Oyun Bridge would have been completed.

He disclosed that, between the Oyun bridge and the Kwara State Polytechnic (KwaraPoly) campus, work is at the final stage of Asphalt laying.

Shittu further disclosed that work between the Kwara Poly gate and Oke-Ose is at the stone base level, which he added will give the road strength and that the culvert on the sides have been virtually completed.

He appreciated the state government for the regular funding of the project and assured that if the payment is sustained, the project would be completed by October.

The contractor handling the project, Yorgi Mastory of Chelfom Engineering and Construction Co. Nig. Ltd disclosed that the project is at its third stage where the Asphalt will be laid.
