Entertainment Crucial to Society – Gov. Ahmed

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has observed that entertainment is crucial to the society as it serves as a platform disseminating crucial information and positive values.

The Governor made this observation on Thursday when he played host to Nollywood actors and actresses led by movie producer, Lasun Ray at the Government House, Ilorin.

According to him, players in the entertainment industry are stakeholders in governance as they play important roles in setting developmental agenda in the society and platforms for economic empowerment.

He further noted that it will take a collective effort from stakeholders in different sectors, including entertainment, to bring Nigeria to an enviable level.

Alhaji Ahmed, therefore commended the Nollywood Stars for contributing their quota to not just moulding the society but serving as role models for youths.

The governor pledged his administration’s continued partnership with the industry, noting that entertainment is a veritable medium to disseminate information to the public and promoting positive values.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the team, Mr Lasun Ray said the crew came to appreciate the Governor Ahmed-led administration for his strong support to the industry particularly in the areas of art and culture.

He also commended the governor for the good works carried out in the state by the administration especially in the area of infrastructure.
