Customs Officials Shoot 8 Months Pregnant Woman In Ogun State

A pregnant woman identified as Mrs. Ogunlana Bukola was hit by the bullet shell of customs officers who shot in the air to disperse a mob at the early hours of Thursday at Ota, Ogun state.

According to reports, Mrs. Ogunlana who is a staff of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company was hit by bullets on her back and the left side of her body, when the customs officials were on the pursuit of rice smugglers in the area shot in the air in order to disperse the crowd preventing them from making an arrest.

She is said to be responding to treatment.
Customs Federal Operation Unit (FOU) Zone ‘A’ Lagos spokesman, Jerry Attah, confirmed the incident and revealed that the victim was alive and is doing fine.
